At meeting with Magomedsalam Magomedov, Dagestani resident asks for help in investigation into death of his son's pregnant wife
Mamatkhan Baisultanov, a resident of the city of Khasavyurt, at a meeting with Magomedsalam Magomedov, the leader of Dagestan, reported on the course of the investigation into the criminal case on the fact of shelling of his son Gasan Baisultanov and his pregnant wife Sapiyat Magomedova, committed by law enforcement agents in 2006. Mamatkhan Baisultanov asked Magomedsalam Magomedov to render assistance in the investigation into the case, which, according to him, had been considered by nine investigators already.
On June 29, at the meeting with Magomedsalam Magomedov, Mamatkhan Baisultanov told him about the incident and how he tries to achieve justice.
"I told the leader of the republic that my son Gasan and his pregnant wife Sapiyat were shelled by policemen from the Kazbek ROVD (District Interior Division) later, the ballistic examination confirmed that my daughter-in-law died from bullets from the submachine gun, which was registered for Anas Satiraev. The criminal case was instituted, it was suspended and then resumed for precisely 15 times; nine investigators succeeded each other, and I cannot remember their names. This is a precedent in the history of Dagestan and Russia. The Investigatory Committee keeps delaying the process, although it is not complicated," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Mamatkhan Baisultanov.
"Magomedsalam Magomedov listened to me attentively, and he ordered his subordinates to complete the investigation. Only thing that I want let the case be brought to the court to finally reveal who was responsible for the death of my daughter-in-law and serious wound of my son," Mamatkhan Baisultanov said.
Magomed Dibirov, one of the participants of the meeting, First Deputy Prosecutor of Dagestan, said that the situation on the fact of shelling was not so unambiguous.
"Consideration of the criminal case was resumed at our initiative. However, the problem is that Mamatkhan Baisultanov treats several law enforcement officers as unequivocally guilty; however, the investigation shows absence of sufficient evidence for such an assertion," Magomed Dibirov has emphasized.
On December 14, 2011, the criminal case was closed once again. Then, Mamatkhan Baisultanov sent a letter to Gamzat Gamzatov, the head of the Public Chamber of Dagestan, asking to render assistance in continuing the investigation. On this May 17, Mamatkhan Baisultanov met Gasan Gasanov, the assistant of the leader of Dagestan, who promised Mamatkhan Baisultanov to arrange a meeting with Magomedsalam Magomedov.
