Appeal of the Sixteenth Congress of the Public Movement "Adyge-Khase - Circassian Parliament" to the head of the Republic of Adygea A. K. Tkhakushinov

Esteemed Aslancheriy Kitovich,

For more than a year already the situation in Syria has been more and more aggravating and has actually approached a civil war.

The repeated appeals of our compatriots Adygs (Circassians) from Syria to the leadership of the Russian Federation and leaders of the republics of the historic residence of Adygs (Circassians) remain without a sufficiently efficient and targeted policy.

The process of forced resettlement of our compatriots Adygs (Circassian) has started spontaneously and is now accelerating exponentially.

The issues of their temporary accommodation in the historic homeland, not to mention their settlement and adaptation are addressed spontaneously at the level of public organizations, or - in the best case - by respective committees in the subjects of the Federation.

However, already there is a precedent of repatriation of our compatriots Adygs (Circassians) from the Autonomous Province of Kosovo (Yugoslavia) to the Russian Federation - the Republic of Adygea, which was successfully carried out by the leadership of the Russian Federation together with the leadership of the Republic of Adygea, with the participation of public organizations and the foreign Diaspora.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation, international legal acts and the Federal Law "On State Policy in the Russian Federation Towards Compatriots", and taking into account the current situation, we hereby ask you to consider as soon as possible at the session of the State Council-Khase of the Republic of Adygea with participation of the President of Adygea and the leaders of the executive power the situation in detail with our compatriots Adygs (Circassians) in Syria and address particular proposals to the leadership of the Russian Federation asking to take urgent measures of state support to resettlement of our compatriots Adygs (Circassians) from the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation.

The Resolution was adopted in the city of Maikop at the Sixteenth Congress of Public Movement "Adyge-Khase - Circassian Parliament" of the Republic of Adygea on June 30, 2012, by unanimous vote of 348 delegates.
