Mirzaev recognizes one of attackers

Investigators have identified one of the attackers on the athlete Rasul Mirzaev as Kamil Allakhverdiev, a native of Dagestan, said Yulia Ivanova, the spokesperson of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of December 31, 2016, Rasul Mirzaev, World Champion in Combat Sambo, was hospitalized in Moscow after an attack of three unidentified men. The athlete was shelled from a traumatic gun, and he underwent surgery at the hospital.

Rasul Mirzaev has recognized Kamil Allakhverdiev on the photo; the procedure took place in a hospital room, where the athlete is recovering after received injuries, the "Vesti" reports.

On the eve of the recognition procedure, Mirzaev was visited by parents of alleged attackers, who suggested settling the conflict peacefully, but the athlete refused, the "Gazeta.ru" has added.

Rasul Mirzaev "was familiar with the attackers; and the beating could be caused by a complicated relations with them because of a girl," the TV Channel "REN TV" reports citing its own sources.
