Chechen resident sentenced for joining a militant grouping

Magomed Dudaev, a resident of the Shali District, was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony for joining an illegal armed formation (IAF) in 2016. According to the law enforcement agencies, IAF members did not show themselves in the past year.

The court has found out that in 2016, Magomed Dudaev joined a group of militants led by a native of the Shali District. Several months ago, Magomed Dudaev was detained, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the law enforcement agencies of Chechnya.

On October 4, the Shali City Court sentenced Magomed Dudaev to eight years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony with subsequent custodial restraint for a period of one year, reported the Investigating Department for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
