Armenian parliament deprives Manvel Grigoryan of MP's immunity

The decision to deprive Manvel Grigoryan of his MP's immunity and the sanction for his arrest were approved by a majority of the Armenian MPs. The defence reported the deterioration of the Manvel Grigoryan's health state.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 16, retired General Manvel Grigoryan, an MP from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), was detained on suspicion of illicit arms trafficking. On June 19, it became known that a criminal case was instituted against Manvel Grigoryan about the large-scale embezzlement of goods intended for the needs of the army.

Today, the Armenian parliament has considered the petitions filed by the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia regarding the deprivation of the MP's immunity and the arrest of Manvel Grigoryan. According to the regulations, the MPs voted twice, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports with reference to the YouTube channel of the Armenian parliament.

81 MPs voted to deprive Manvel Grigoryan of his MP's immunity, while other three MPs voted against. Meanwhile, 77 MPs approved the sanction to arrest Manvel Grigoryan, while other three delegates voted against.
