Policeman attacked and killed in Grozny

In central Grozny, an unknown man has attacked a policeman with a knife, as a result of which the law enforcer died. The attacker was killed while trying to escape with the policeman's service pistol, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has stated.

Today, in the centre of Grozny, an unknown man was shot dead after he attacked an inspector of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (known as the GIBDD) with a knife, Mr Kadyrov has added. "The inspector left for an ablution into the namaz (prayer) room, where [the attacker] surreptitiously inflicted mortal wounds on him. While trying to escape from the venue with the inspector's service pistol, the attacker was shot dead," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel, adding law enforcers are searching for possible attacker's accomplices, and also clarify the motives for the attack.
