Local residents complained about the inconveniences due to the CTO.

On August 6, 2020, a CTO was conducted in Nazran and the village of Sagopshi in the Malgobek District of Ingushetia, during which there was a shootout with alleged militants. Law enforcers reported two killed and one detained militants. According to sources, another militant, an athlete, Muslim Evloev, managed to escape. Evloev was the champion of Asia in freestyle wrestling; he performed for the national team of Kyrgyzstan.

In Sunzha, the CTO regime was announced on May 30, 2020; and a shootout took place. Law enforcers stormed the building where an armed grouping was hiding and killed two alleged militants.

On May 13, 2020, Ingush law enforcers conducted a CTO in the Sunzha District. In the forests on the border with Chechnya, Aslan Byutukaev's grouping of militants was searched for.

Prior to this, a CTO in Ingushetia was conducted in August 2019. Then, in the village of Voznesenskoe, Malgobek District, a militant who refused to surrender was killed. In the place of the shootout, law enforcers found an improvised explosive device (IED), weapons and ammunition. According to the Russian NAC, the casualty had recruited supporters for committing a terror act and leave for the militants in Syria.
