KChR resident suspected of spreading fakes about Russian Army

Taulan Kipkeev, a mountaineering instructor from the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), became a suspect within a criminal case of fakes about the Russian Army after his posts criticizing the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the article on public dissemination of deliberately false information about the Russian Army was introduced on March 4, 2022, after the start of Russia's SMO in Ukraine. Under this article, in particular, Alexander Nozdrinov, a journalist from the Krasnodar Territory, was sentenced to 8.5 years in penal colony.

The 29-year-old Taulan Kipkeev has become a suspect within the case of fakes about the Russian Army, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has informed. The reason for prosecuting him was in posting a video in a social network in which Kipkeev criticized Russian leadership for the SMO in Ukraine.

Let us remind you that on February 14, 2024, Putin signed a law on confiscation of property used to spread fakes about the Russian Army. The new law is designed to further intimidate dissidents, lawyers have noted.
