Action against infringement of Turks-Meskhetians' rights in Krasnodar Territory
On the eve of Human Rights Day, a "live" exhibition took place in the village of Kievskoye (Krimsky district), where Turks-Meskhetians were on mass hunger strike in 2002. Children of Turks-Meskhetians held photos in their hands, showing the everyday discrimination practiced, as the action participants think, by regional authorities.
Participants declared they would continue their struggle for human rights and were ready to resume the mass hunger strike. But this time they will do it throughout Krasnodar Territory, they said. To remind, the hunger strike was suspended because of the natural disaster in the region and due to the promise given by deputy head of the Russian President's staff to send a commission to the region, which has not come so far.
