Grenade goes off near house of car service director in Stavropol Territory

At night of Thursday, in the Cossack village of Suvorovskaya of the Predgorny District of the Stavropol Territory, a grenade blew up in the yard of the house belonging to a car service director. No one was injured. This was reported by the press centre of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

As a result of the explosion, windows in the house were shattered, and two doors were damaged.

After the incident occurred, the investigating authorities have instituted criminal proceedings under two Articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: Article 213 (hooliganism) and Article 222 (arms trafficking), the "Interfax" reports.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported on the several explosions in the region that occurred last year, including the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) with power of 40 grams of TNT equivalent that occurred on July 22 in the chemist's shop in the town of Izobilny, and the explosion of a grenade that occurred on June 6 in the territory of the pumping station "Gorvodokanal" in Kislovodsk. No one was injured in both incidents.
