Grenade explosion in house in KChR kills two children; the third one is safe

The man, who triggered an explosion in a private house of the Nogai District of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic and killed two children, is an unemployed resident of North Ossetia. During the explosion, a 13-year-old girl was also in the house; she was not hurt.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on December 2, in the village of Erken-Shakhar, an intoxicated earlier convicted man, born in 1974, during his quarrel with the house hostess, triggered a grenade. After the explosion, the man and the woman were hospitalized with injuries, while the hostess' granddaughters, aged 3 and 11, were killed.

During the explosion, the third granddaughter aged 13 was also in the house – she did not suffer, said the Investigating Department for the KChR of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). As specified, her 11-year-old sister died on the spot, and the 3-year-old one died in hospital.

The man, who blew up the grenade, received multiple fragmental and lost his wrist.

The girls were killed in the house, where the grenade exploded, because their mother asked her grandmother to stay with the children, while she went to work at the night shift, the RIA "Karachay-Cherkessia" writes with reference to the republic's MIA.

Investigators find out how the man could possess a fragmentation grenade. A criminal case was opened against him under the article dealing with the murder of small children and assuming imprisonment from eight to 20 years.
