Yerevan: presentation of photo album on movement for NKR's independence was attended by about 50 persons

Yerevan has hosted a presentation of the photo album "Road to Victory" by Ashot Muradyan, published in three languages and dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the Karabakh movement and the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The photos are accompanied by texts in the Armenian, Russian and English languages. The circulation of the album is 1000 copies, some of them will be sold at the US "Sardarapat" bookstore in Los Angeles.

The presentation was held on May 27 at the bookstore-cafe "Art Bridge". According to the organizers, it was attended by over 50 persons.

The album "Road to Victory" presents photographs taken by Ashot Muradyan during the rallies of the Karabakh movement in 1988 and the Nagorno-Karabakh war of 1991-1994. It also includes photos of the 1988 earthquake and the blockade of Armenia in early 1990s.

In September 1991, the independent Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) was proclaimed; and in December, a referendum on independence was held. The international status of the NKR is not settled. The UN member-countries do not recognize the NKR as an independent state.
