In Sochi, family affected by fire complains about developer's failure to fulfil agreement terms

On November 7, the tenancy period for Semenov family members, who lost their housing because of the fire in a house in Tsuryupa Street, expires. Earlier, the money for rent of the housing was allocated by the developer, who promised to provide the family members with a new apartment, but failed to fulfil the terms of the agreement. This was reported by the Semenov family.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 28, the developer of a 12-storey house in No. 4a in Tsuryupa Street, built on the local area of the burned house, and Andrei Tereschenko, the head of the Central District administration of Sochi offered the fire victims to create a homeowners association and to restore the building at the expense of the developer. Out of 12 apartment owners, nine approved the proposal, while three others declined it.

After the fire, family members of 11 apartment owners were accommodated at their relatives' places. The Semenov family with an 11-month-old baby had nowhere to go, and they rented an apartment at the expense of the developer.

"Till present, no repair works have been performed, and they just throw dust in our eyes. Now, the developer claims that the house cannot be restored, and the Mayor's Office has issued a letter on recognition of the building as not suitable for accommodation of people," said Elena Semenova.

The woman has sent a message to the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot", in which she states that the developer "categorically refuses to fulfil his obligations." "As a result, our family with an infant got the key of the street. No one takes any action to accommodate our family," said the message.
