In Abkhazia, 30 people injured in explosion at ammunition depot

This afternoon, a huge explosion has occurred at an ammunition depot in the Gudauta District in Abkhazia. The explosion resulted in a fire and continued detonation of shells. The authorities of the republic evacuate people from villages and towns located near the place of emergency.

After the explosion at the ammunition depot, about 30 victims were hospitalized. Of them, five wounded persons were brought to the republican hospital in Sukhumi; two were taken to a hospital in the city of Novy Afon, and about twenty to the Gudauta hospital. This was reported by Tamaz Tsakhnakiya, Abkhazian Minister for Public Health.

According to the Minister, medical teams were mobilized to help the wounded people. The number of injured people includes vacationers, the TASS reports.
