Kuban activist Polyudova arrested for three days

Darya Polyudova was detained today at her home in the village of Poltavskaya on charges of petty hooliganism. Another activist, Victor Chirikov, was detained near his house in Krasnodar on a similar charge.

Two months ago, on October 20, Darya Polyudova was released from the Novorossiysk colony after serving her sentence passed for her alleged public appeals for separatism and extremism. She was punished with two years of colony-settlement because of an action organized in August 2014 against Russia's policy towards Ukraine, although the action never took place.

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" put Darya on the political prisoners’ list; and the human rights organization Amnesty International recognized her to be a "prisoner of conscience".

Today, the Krasnoarmeisky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory has sentenced Darya Polyudova to three days of arrest under an article on petty hooliganism. She managed to inform the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the judgement before her phone was taken away, and she was taken to the temporary detention facility (known as the IVS).

"Allegedly, I used foul language in a public place, and some citizen has reported this to the police," said Polyudova, adding that she was not provided with an advocate; and only a few minutes were given to her to read the case materials.
