Tbilisi residents blame developer for refusal to pay compensations

In Tbilisi, a developer of the high-rise building refused to pay compensation under far-fetched pretexts. This was claimed by owners of two private houses, near which the construction of the high-rise building is under construction. They complained that the construction provokes the gradual destruction of their private houses.

The construction of a 27-storey high-rise building is being underway in Aten Street in the Vaki District of Tbilisi. The city authorities initially issued a permit for the construction of an 11-storey building. However, later, the Mayoralty increased the coefficient determining the number of floors in the building and thus allowed the construction of a 27-storey high-rise building, local residents complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Tamar Dolidze, a local resident, with the beginning of the high-rise building construction, "her house got cracks on its walls and the ground began to sink from the construction site."

The local residents also reported they were negotiating with agents of the developer partnership. According to them, the negotiations "came to a standstill after they voiced the demand to pay the amount of compensation for damage caused to residential buildings."
