Resident of Rostov Region died after attack of stray dogs

An elderly man has died in the Aksay District of the Rostov Region after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs, his relatives have reported.

The pack of stray dogs attacked the 60-year-old man in the evening of February 23, in a horticultural partnership, when he took his sheepdog out for a walk. The stray animals have bitten the sheepdog to death and injured the man who tried to protect his pet.

The man could reach the threshold of his house, where neighbours tried to give him first aid and treat his wounds, but soon died. The forensic experts came to the conclusion that his death was caused not by bites, but by a sudden cardiac arrest, the Rostov edition "161.ru" has reported today with reference to the casualty's friend.

The funeral of the man took place today; his close relatives reported that he had never complained about his health, but the stress after the attack of the pack of stray dogs triggered a heart attack.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in February of 2018, a child died from stray dogs' bites in Makhachkala. This incident was the second one within a year – in February 2017, after a similar attack, a schoolgirl perished.
