In Derbent, anti-drug operation results in institution of three new criminal cases

Three residents of Derbent, in whose houses rounds and drugs were found during searches conducted on February 27, became involved in criminal cases, reported a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 27, sources reported that more than 150 officers of the Dagestani FSB Department and MIA started searches in 23 houses of Makhachkala residents, suspected of involvement in drug trafficking.

After those searches, investigators instituted three criminal cases under articles on illegal arms trafficking and possession of drugs, the "Youth of Dagestan" reports with reference to a source from the Dagestani MIA.

The source has specified that a raid was conducted by policemen to verify the information collected during the investigation into several criminal cases instituted earlier.

So, according to the source, 30 rounds were found and seized from a house of a 30-year-old resident of Derbent. The man was detained, and a criminal case was instituted against him.

During another search conducted in case on theft, 20.94 grams of marijuana was found in a house of a 34-year-old resident of Derbent.

Another criminal case was instituted by investigators following the results of a search in a house of a 64-year-old woman from Derbent, where law enforcers found 19.82 grams of marijuana.
