Residents of North Ossetia point to problem areas in improvement of cities

Residents of Vladikavkaz, Alagir, Beslan, and Mozdok identified 10 public areas requiring improvement as part of the programme to create a comfortable urban environment. During the voting in March, residents will choose the entertainment places to be funded this year.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that North Ossetia participates in the programme for creating a comfortable urban environment. In 2017, the republic got about 142 million roubles from Moscow for the above purposes.

This year, the cities of North Ossetia with a population over 20,000 people compiled a list of territories residents considered necessary to be first equipped. Thus, residents of Vladikavkaz included in the list two parks, a Terek embankment fragment and a promenade in the city centre, residents of Alagir a water station and a city alley, of Mozdok two parks, and of Beslan an alley and a city lane, reported Albert Sokurov, Minister of Housing and Communal Services.

Alexander Beleenko, a resident of Vladikavkaz, noted that he was most concerned over the state of swimming places in a city with a population of over 300,000 people, since the only water station was not able to accommodate everyone. Besides, there is not a single children's pond in Vladikavkaz, said a city resident.

Tatiana Ramonova, a resident of Beslan, also spoke in favour of the revival of the water station. The woman noted that in the past 20 years, this once-popular place for mass recreation fell into disrepair.
