Azerbaijani authorities announce quarantine softening

Starting from April 27, in Azerbaijan, shops and a number of service sector enterprises will resume operation. Restrictions will be still in force for shopping centres and malls, reports the operational headquarters.

On Friday, in Azerbaijan, the total number of coronavirus-infected people reached 1592.

In Azerbaijan, the quarantine regime has been in force since March 24. On April 18, the quarantine has been extended until May 4.

The restrictions will be removed step by step. On April 27, businesses of some spheres will resume operation throughout the country. In particular, ASAN Xidmet centres will resume document processing services.

The Azerbaijani government allowed resuming the operation of shops selling cosmetics and perfumes, clothes, shoes, leather goods, jewellery, mobile devices, computer equipment, electronics and household appliances, furniture, and cars. Shops selling flowers and plant products, agricultural equipment, and fertilizers will also be opened. Photo studios, copy centres, workshops for repairing equipment and electronics, shops selling books and newspapers, stationery, and pawnshops will resume operation. However, shopping centres and malls will be closed so far.
