President of Nagorno-Karabakh agrees to end conflict

Araik Arutyunyan has agreed to end the war, explaining this by the desire to avoid numerous casualties and complete loss of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia had signed a ceasefire statement in the Karabakh conflict zone. In his turn, Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian Prime Minister, wrote in his Facebook page that he had made a difficult decision for himself and his people. Tonight, on November 10, residents of Yerevan, dissatisfied with the signing of the statement, broke into the building of the Armenian Government and demanded Pashinyan's resignation.

Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh, has written today in his Facebook page that he agreed to end the war.

"Given the current most difficult situation, in order to avoid further numerous casualties and the complete loss of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), I gave my consent to end the war an hour earlier," Mr Arutyunyan has stated (as translated by the "Gazeta.ru").
