Social media users criticize Kadyrov’s words about Navalny and Koran
Internet users expressed their doubts that the leader of Chechnya was authorised to speak on behalf of all Muslims when he stated that Alexei Navalny had no right to read the Koran.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, after having learned about the Alexei Navalny’s request to provide him with the Koran for reading, Ramzan Kadyrov has said that Alexei Navalny has no right to mention and read the Koran. On behalf of all Russian Muslims, the leader of Chechnya has called on warders of the penal colony not to meet the prisoner’s request.
By 2:40 p.m. Moscow time, the repost of the appeal in the Ramzan Kadyrov’s Telegram channel, posted today on the “Ekho Moskvy” website, gained 289 comments. Some users questioned the Ramzan Kadyrov’s right to voice such calls to employees of the FSIN (Federal Penitentiary Service).
“We have freedom of religion. Navalny can study any form of religion, if he has time and desire,” wrote, in particular, user sandro_2021. “And is Kadyrov entitled to make such appeals?” user matzuvi asked.
“Who gave Kadyrov the right to ban Navalny from doing something, and even on behalf of all Muslims?” user mmm111 wrote.
