Three sappers wounded while demining village in Nagorno-Karabakh

Three sappers have been hospitalized after a bomb exploded when they were demining the territory of one of the villages in the Martuni District of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Today, during the engineering and prospecting works in the village of Nor Shen, sappers were wounded by the explosion of a cluster bomb," a source from the Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Doctors have assessed the condition of two sappers as satisfactory, and of the third one – as stably grave.

The demining of territories after the hostilities in Karabakh may take years, as clearing battlefields from ammunition is a long and cumbersome process, analysts have noted.
