In Stavropol Territory, law enforcers disrupt a villagers’ protest action
A rally against the chairman of the “Rossiya” collective farm in the Stavropol Territory and an attempt to elect a new leader ended in a harsh detention of an activist. Administrative protocols were drawn up against several other protesters.
Several hundred workers from the “Rossiya” collective farm took part in a protest action against current chairman Sergey Pyanov. However, the police, court marshals, and representatives of Sergey Pyanov warned the protestors that the rally was illegal.
According to advocate Vladislav Kudryavtsev, who represents the interests of equity holders of the “Rossiya” collective farm, one activist was detained in a rude manner, and administrative protocols were drawn up against several other persons for failure to obey a legal request of the federal court marshal service.
The property of the “Rossiya” collective farm, located in the Grigoropolisskaya village in the Stavropol Territory, was transferred to the collective management of equity holders back in the 1990s. Some of the employees believe that current managers want to destroy the farm by selling the property of equity holders to the “Prodimex” large agricultural holding. The conflict in the collective farm began back in February 2021.
