Opposition demands resignation of Armenian President and Premier
The participants of the rally organized by the "Liberation Movement" have called for the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister, and Armen Sarkisyan, the President, in order to prevent the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan, which is unfavourable for Armenia.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 22, in Yerevan, activists blocked several streets demanding from the Prime Minister to prevent delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan. According to the police, 18 people were detained. On November 23, at a rally, members of the “Liberation Movement” demanded from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to make public the documents on the border delimitation. On November 24, the activists of the “Liberation Movement” blocked the Yerevan metro for 15 minutes in protest against the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan. Two protesters were brought to police stations.
On November 27, the "Liberation Movement" organized a rally in Republic Square in Yerevan. Ara Zograbyan, the founder of the "Zartonk" Party, has stated that activists are trying to prevent the fulfilment of the border delimitation agreement, as well as the creation of a transport corridor in the Syunik Region connecting Baku with the Azerbaijani enclave – the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
At the end of the rally, its participants organized a march along central streets of Yerevan. Mr Zograbyan announced another action on November 28, a "consolidating pilgrimage" to Echmiadzin, where the administration of the Armenian Apostolic Church is located.
