“Memorial”* nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Members of the Estonian parliament nominated the “Memorial”* as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on December 28, 2021, the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia liquidated the “International Memorial”* and its regional divisions, and on the other day, the Moscow City Court ruled to liquidate the Human Rights Centre (HRC) “Memorial”*. The ECtHR has announced that the execution of the decisions on liquidation should be postponed until the decision of the ECtHR on the complaint filed by Russian NGOs against the law on foreign agents.

Let us remind you that violations of the law on foreign agents became the reason for the lawsuit on the liquidation of the “International Memorial”*.

*The organization has been put by the Russian Ministry of Justice on the register of NCOs performing the functions of a foreign agent.
