Abubakar Yangulbaev leaves Georgia

Abubakar Yangulbaev, a former lawyer of the "Committee against Torture" (CaT)*, said that he left Georgia for Europe because of security threats.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, Zarema Musaeva, the wife of a retired federal judge, Saidi Yangulbaev, was forcibly taken away by Chechen law enforcers to Grozny. "The decision to leave for Europe was recommended to me by the experts who understand security," Abubakar Yangulbaev said in an interview with the "We Can Explain" Telegram channel. He received a Czech visa and immediately flew out of Tbilisi.

Yangulbaev has admitted that he did not want to leave the Caucasus, because he "likes to live in the mountains."
