Investigators detain Sochi resident who claimed torture

A criminal case on a false denunciation has been opened against Alexei Vlasenko, a Sochi resident, who had accused law enforcers of torturing him; a decision was made to detain him, the "Gulagu.net" project has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 23, Vlasenko complained about being beaten up by law enforcers, who had accused him of purchasing a stolen gold chain from the pawnshop, where he works, and forced him to write a confession. Vlasenko was diagnosed with numerous bruises, abrasions and haemorrhages. His colleagues and relatives describe him as an honest person.
