Defence of convicted KBR resident achieves inquiry into his kidnapping by law enforcers

In the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), a criminal case has been initiated into the kidnapping in September 2014 of Aslan Khagundokov, a local resident, who is serving his sentence for killing a Rostov businessman. Khagundokov's sister has stated that her brother had been kidnapped by law enforcers, who tried to force him to confess to the crime by torture.

The kidnapping case was opened almost eight years after the incident, Anas Elmurzaev, an advocate has stated. According to his story, this article against law enforcers provides for from 5-12 years in prison.

The disabled Aslan Khagundokov was sentenced to 13 years in prison for killing in 2014 Pyotr Arzhanik, an entrepreneur, in Rostov-on-Don. He is serving his eighth year for the crime he never committed, as his sister and advocates assert.

Djulietta Khagundokova said that her brother had been beaten up, tortured with electric current, but, failing to force him to confess to the murder, they left him in the outskirt of the village of Kakhun, where his relatives later found him.
