Kuban resident accused of discrediting armed forces

The case of Evgeny Ostapenko, a resident of the Temryuk District of the Krasnodar Territory (also known as Kuban by the name of the main river), accused of discrediting the Russian militaries, has been brought to court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of the Krasnodar Territory are periodically holding pacifist actions, and are punished under articles about discrediting Russian militaries and spreading fake news about them. Thus, on June 13, a Sochi court fined Svetlana Populovskaya, finding her guilty of discrediting Russian militaries after she posted photos and videos in instant messengers.

Law enforcers have drawn up a protocol for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces against the above Evgeny Ostapenko, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported.
