Pashinyan’s opponents hold a march in Yerevan

Opposition supporters, demanding the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister, held a march in the centre of Yerevan and blocked traffic along a city street. Protest actions will be continued, opposition MPs assure.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that today, participants of the protest rally, which took place on Square of France starting from May 1, have removed their tent camp to join opposition supporters seeking the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan.

The tent city has fulfilled its mission, and now the activists will act according to the new strategy, Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament, notes.

At a call of Aram Vardevanyan, an MP from the opposition “Hayastan” bloc, supporters of the “Resistance” opposition movement gathered on Wednesday near the Yerevan City Mayoralty and marched to the building of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

The rallies will continue, and the protest movement itself is not stopped with the removed tents, the oppositional MP assures.

The opposition is also not going to abandon the demand for Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation and uses all possible tools to reach the goal, including impeachment.

Over a month and a half of protests, the opposition “managed to prevent the signing of documents dangerous for Armenia and Artsakh,” emphasizes Elinar Vardanyan, an MP from the “Hayastan” bloc.
