Armenia responds to Azeri accusations

The information of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) that Armenian militaries had opened fire on the border is not true, the Armenian MoD has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Azerbaijani and Armenian parties are periodically exchanging accusations of shelling. On July 13, Azerbaijan announced that it opened fire in response after the shelling by Armenian militaries of the Azeri positions located in the Kelbadjar District.

The information that on July 13, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire from small arms in the direction of Azerbaijani positions in the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is untrue, the Armenian MoD has claimed, the "News-Armenia" has reported.

The situation on the border is relatively stable and is under the full control of Armenian militaries, the MoD's report says.
