Kremlin responds to Kadyrov’s initiative on self-mobilization in regions

The Ramzan Kadyrov’s idea concerning the self-mobilization of people in the regions to be sent to Ukraine should be assessed by professionals, including the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov announces today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 15, the head of Chechnya stated that Russian governors should proactively announce self-mobilization in their regions in order to form detachments and send them to Ukraine.

At a briefing, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has emphasized that the Ramzan Kadyrov’s proposal to declare the self-mobilization should be commented on by the Ministry of Defence. “This initiative should probably be assessed from the point of view of military professionals, and, of course, the Ministry of Defence should comment on this idea,” the RIA “Novosti” quoted the Russian presidential press secretary as saying today.

The analysts earlier interviewed by the “Caucasian Knot” have called the Ramzan Kadyrov’s initiative a continuation of the campaign against the Ministry of Defence and Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu.
