Muslims claim disproportionate mobilization in Northern Caucasus

Participants in the action held in Moscow have expressed doubts that in non-Muslim regions they mobilize the number of people comparable to the republics of Northern Caucasus.

In Dagestan, they mobilize untrained young men, Aina Gamzatova, an adviser to the republic's Mufti, said in her appeal to President Vladimir Putin, asking him to postpone mobilization in Dagestan. Some network users believe that Gamzatova could have asked for more for the republic.

On Friday, after the Juma Namaz (Prayer), several hundred men came out of the Historical Mosque in Moscow; they began discussing the partial mobilization and regretting that Muslims, in particular Caucasians, are being mobilized as a priority.

"I'm a Dagestani, I've been living in Moscow for 21 years ... They recruited my nephew from Makhachkala and another nephew from Derbent. Both guys are 20 years old. None of them had served in the army. They use our kids to plug up holes in the Russian Army," a businessman named Aram has stated.

Akbar, a worker has agreed with him. "Authorities believe that Caucasians should be the first to defend the regime. I have four children; only one of them had served in the army, but all of them received the summonses," he has noted.

Salam, a trader from Ingushetia, has added that in the Caucasus summonses are "served to everyone." He is sure that there is no such large-scale call up in other Russian regions.

Khusein, a floor installer, has noted that the sending of Caucasians to Ukraine is motivated by the fact that they were "born for war." "But Caucasians are kind people," he has stated.
