Militiamen extort money from military servicemen under contract in Stavropol krai
Two militiamen of a permanent unit at the railway station in Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol krai, have been detained. They were extorting money from servicemen going to Chechnya and back. This has been reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by colonel-general Mikhail Pankov, chief of RF MIA Main Directorate on SFD.
"We have started a check after publications in two military periodicals which report on the situation," says Pankov. "Thanks to operational measures of the internal security service, two militiamen who extorted bribes have been identified."
"A criminal case has been initiated against them, an investigation is under way," concludes Pankov.
For reference, the "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that, in August, another criminal case under the "extortion" article was initiated against officers of the investigation department of Russian UFSKN for Stavropol krai. "The investigation department under the internal affairs unit in Shpack district initiated a criminal case under art.163, para. 2, of the CC (extortion committed by a group of persons) against a captain and a junior lieutenant, senior officers of the investigation department of Russian UFSKN for Stavropol krai, who threatened an entrepreneur with criminal liability for illegal trading in confectionery poppy-seed," tells our source. According to his information, the UFSKN officers extorted 30,000 rubles from the entrepreneur and seized products for the amount of more than 10,000 rubles.
