European observers express remarks on Georgian election
The international observation mission comprised of representatives of democratic institutes of the OSCE, Parliamentary Assembly of the European Council and European Parliament, Office for Defence of Human Rights and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has published a report in connection with the presidential election in Georgia.
The "Rustavi-2" TV Company reports that the document refers to the post-election period and treats the vote tabulation process as slow and badly organized. Also, the report runs that the electoral administrations of all levels, as well as the courts, have failed to consider all the complaints, which had arrived in plenty in relation to the process of voting and vote tabulation, as well as in relation to the election process as a whole.
David Usupashvili, one of the leaders of the Republican Party, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the main thing is that the report lists such facts about violations during the election, which allow us to initiate a criminal case against Levan Tarkhnishvili, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission."
In his turn, Iossif Shatberashvili, a member of the Labour Party, thinks that "all the remarks made by international organizations have no effect on the election outcomes." "They just state: what happened during the presidential election in Georgia should not repeat during the forthcoming parliamentary elections," he said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
