Leader of Party "For United Georgia" calls public to support "Kavkasia" TV Company
Today, Eka Beseliya, secretary general of the oppositional party "For United Georgia", held a press conference, where she called the Georgian public to financially support the sole oppositional TV Company "Kavkasia", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"We try to protest against the authoritative rule of those in power, and this is our struggle for the freedom of speech and mass media in Georgia. Our party calls the public and political parties to help the TV Company with monetary donations. Everybody knows already that the authorities purposefully try to ruin it," said Ms Beseliya.
According to her story, the incomes of the "Kavkasia" have essentially gone down after the pressure of the authorities on businessmen who are forced not to place advertisements on the TV Channel. Let us note here that during the press conference the members of the party "For United Georgia" donated a symbolic sum in support of the TV Company.
The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that observers had already marked that financial problems can seriously tell on the work of the "Kavkasia" TV Company, which is tremendously popular in spite of the fact that its information broadcasting is limited, same as the area covered by its signal.
