Armenia stops case against one of former "Case of Seven" defendants

According to the conclusion of experts from the Ministry of Public Health, Shant Arutyunyan, one of the defendants in the former "Case of Seven", "in the moment of committing his crime was in the state of mental insanity." On the basis of the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the criminal case against Mr Arutyunyan is stopped.

"Should I be insane, on March 1 I'd have called people to go raping and killing. But I called people to stay where they were in the name of defending their rights and rights of their children. We combat for our freedom, justice and equality. If they think that a madman could state this, then, let the whole world know that I'm a madman who is at fight for freedom; it means that all other people in Armenia are insane too. The authorities had arrested us just to save their image," said the former political prisoner.

Shant Arutyunyan has added that he "is going to do everything for liberation of his comrades who are still in custody." "It's something special for me, it's my fight," he has emphasized.
