Militants shell a combat helicopter in Chechen mountains

A multifunctional helicopter Mi-8 was shelled in the morning on July 5 in the mountainous Shatoy District of Chechnya; and a soldier was wounded. Now, the militants who could make the attack are searched in the vicinities.

"On July 5, in the morning, in the Shatoy District, near Kharsenoy village, a group of unidentified persons opened fire from the adjacent forest on a transport-combat helicopter Mi-8, which had soldiers of one of special units of the Ministry of Defence onboard. A contract soldier was wounded and hospitalized," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Military Commandant's Office of Chechnya.

The crew of the helicopter and other militaries are safe and sound. The Mi-8 has safely landed at the destination. In the course of inspection, two bullet holes were found in its body, as the source of the Office has added.
