Bomb that blew up near house of Magas Mayor was planted near garage gate

Law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia continue investigating the circumstances of the explosion that took place near the house of Aslambek Sagov, Mayor of the city of Magas, the republic's capital, about last midnight; the house is located in Gamurzievo settlement of the city of Nazran.

A source in the above bodies said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent: "Experts have established that the bomb stuffed with striking elements was in a metal bucket placed right at the garage gate. The bomb power was about ten kilos of trotyl, and it was triggered by a clock mechanism. Nobody suffered from the explosion; however, the blast wave completely destroyed the garage and a part of the house, two Mayor's cars were also damaged - they were in the yard. Besides, the neighbouring houses were damaged. Now, the size of the damage is appraised."

Aslambek Sagov, a former boss of one of the largest Ingush commercial banks "Sunzha", was appointed to the post of Magas Mayor after dismissal on November 1 last year by the then newly appointed President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov of the whole cabinet of ministers and presidential administration.

According to the agency named "News of Ingushetia", Mr Sagov is also heading the Ingushetian public reception office of Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Party "Edinaya Rossiya".
