In Azerbaijan, mother of journalist Shakiroglu finds his arrest to be a provocation
Mother of Agasif Shakiroglu, chairman of the youth coalition "Khedef" (Aim), who was arrested on August 3 in Baku, believes that her son has fallen victim of a "pre-planned provocation."
The leader of the "Khedef" is accused of evasion from military service, and on August 3 the Nariman District Court of Baku ruled to arrest him for 1 month.
"My son has never evaded from service," said Ms Ibragimova, mother of the youth activist, said in her conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Now our family lives at 35-48 Nakhichevan Street; however, we are registered at another address: 1-2 Seidyakhyi Street. Probably, the summons of the Military Commissariat went to the latter address," she continued. According to her story, Shakiroglu knew nothing about the summons.
In his turn, Bakhruz Guliev, advocate of the youth activist, said that in fact the Commissariat had never summoned his client. "There's no document confirming his official summon to the Commissariat," said the lawyer and noted that his client may be imprisoned for two years. He is preparing an appeal complaint against the ruling of the Nariman Court.
