Azerbaijan: opposition protests against "Madrid principles"

Today in the midday, the organization for Karabakh liberation and the "Union for Democracy", which unites a number of oppositional parties, have held a protest action in front of the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, about 50 members of these public organizations have expressed their discontent with the "Madrid Principles" of settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and with negotiations on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.

The participants of the action held slogans in their hands: "Azerbaijani soldier, our hope is only on you", "Karabakh - or resignation of the govt."

The action was non-sanctioned, and the police dispersed it, having detained three protesters. Nevertheless, the resolution of the action was handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a demand to give up the "Madrid principles" of settlement.
