Azerbaijan: imprisoned journalist has his TB progressing

In Azerbaijan, the health condition of Mushvig Guseinov, convicted journalist from the "Bizim Yol" (Our Way) newspaper, who was placed two weeks ago in a specialized medical establishment for tuberculosis (TB) patients of the Penitentiary Service, has become still worse. This was stated by his brother Sarvar Guseinov.

"Because of cold weather, Mushvig's condition is especially poor. The heating system is still off at the prison hospital; therefore, Mushvig is very weak; he has high body temperature. He has short wind and speaks with difficulty. Earlier, he had dextral TB, now the left-hand lung is also damaged. His liver disease is now a complement to other ailments," Sarvar said in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Earlier, the PR division of the Penitentiary Service had confirmed TB aggravation in Mushvig Guseinov and assured that he would get all the necessary medical care.
