Evkurov nominates would-be Ingush Ombudsman

Today, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov has offered Azamat Nalgiev to the parliament as his nominee for the post of national Ombudsman. The candidate will be considered by the MPs within the next few days.

Azamat Nalgiev was born in 1941, a well-known Ingush human rights activist and public figure. In 1990s was a deputy of the National Assembly of Ingushetia and headed the commission for interethnic relations and links with public and religious organizations of the parliament. In December 2008, has headed the public commission on defence of human rights under the President of Ingushetia.
