Residents of Vladikavkaz hold new protests against "Electrozink"

Today at about midday, participants of the protest action against operation of the "Electrozink" factory, located in the capital of North Ossetia, have gathered near the building of the city Mayoralty. As the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports, some 200-250 persons take part in the action.

It took about half an hour for the participants of the action, mainly people in the 30-35 age bracket wearing white bandages on their sleeves and masks on their faces, to march from the Mayoralty to the 50th October Anniversary Square, where a festivity concert was on at that time. There, they joined hands and formed a live chain around the square. Some activists went closer to the carriageway and handed over white strips to passing drivers.

"Very few drivers refused from our offer to attach, as a solidarity symbol, a white strip to the car mirror or antenna. The topic of 'Electrozink' is close to everybody, as all the residents suffer from dangerous emissions; now, people understand that they should not keep," said Alla Kokoeva who distributed strips among drivers.

"People should be respected; their opinions should be listened to, once they've put masks with a slogan 'Sto, Electrozink!'," a man, who observed the action, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, has noted.
