Georgian teenagers detained in South Ossetia will spend 2 months in custody
The four Georgian teenagers detained in South Ossetia on charges of illegal crossing the border and storing explosives will stay behind bars for at least two months.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 9 the trial on this case was to take place in South Ossetia; however, it was indefinitely postponed.
The "Georgia Today" reports with reference of the statement of Merab Chigoev, deputy plenipotentiary of President of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, that the South-Ossetian MIA holds investigation, during which the detainees should stay at the temporary isolation facility."
Ten days out of the 8 weeks have expired.
Mr Chigoev has noted that the teenagers were visited by the Red Cross employee, the issue is considered of letting parents to them.
The detention of young Georgians has revived the issue of the three residents of South Ossetia who disappeared in October 2008. In total, South Ossetia counts seven missing persons.
Today, because of the demand to clear out the fate of its missing citizens, the South-Ossetian party failed to appear at the scheduled meeting of representatives of Georgia and South Ossetia within the mechanisms of incident prevention.
