Major Dymovskiy decides not to meet Putin

Militia Major Alexei Dymovskiy from Novorossisk, who had earlier asked Russian Premier Putin about a personal meeting in his video appeal, has given up his intention, now saying that his meeting with Putin will be an "offence to his honour."

Let us remind that the Novorossisk major was going to hand over secret documents proving the abuses of his militia bosses to Mr Putin personally, as to a "regular officer".

Now the major has stated that having studied the SMS messages, which he received "from all the country", he made a conclusion that he can now represent "the people's vice." "If Putin doesn't want to talk to his people, I also don't want to talk to him now," the "Echo Moskvy" quotes Major Dymovskiy as saying. "Up to November 28 I'll not meet him, even if I get an official offer."

Meanwhile on Friday, November 20, in Novorossisk, Major Dymovskiy's public reception office was opened. The "Interfax" reports that now people who have suffered from militia's actions can contact human rights activists by e-mail or telephone; "their problems are discussed and possible help is offered."
