Round table discussion "Karabakh Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"

This is the opinion of the participants in the round table discussion "Karabakh Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow", which was arranged by the Organization for Karabakh Liberation at the International Press Center on October 14.

Generalized materials of seven scientific and practical seminars devoted to the solution of the Karabakh war that were conducted on the initiative of the Organization for Karabakh Liberation in June-December 2002 were presented during the round table and brought up for discussion.

Members of political parties and non-government organizations took part in the round table.

Speakers stressed, in spite of the fact that the Karabakh problem settlement was in the center of international public's attention, the negotiation process on this matter was in a frozen state as before.

"We think stable peace in the region can be achieved only when the Karabakh conflict is fairly settled. In our opinion, we should not miss the creation of the United State Center on Karabakh, the activity of which will be aimed at the conflict settlement. Consolidation of all sections of the Azerbaijan society and mobilization of all material and human resources is also needed so as to find a way out of the situation arisen as fast as possible.  Favorable conditions for the Karabakh conflict settlement will appear when the Azerbaijan society forms the common position on the matter," discussion participants underlined at the end of the round table.
