Ingushetia: contradictory data about attack on Evkurov's press secretary

A source in law enforcement bodies has reported that Kaloy Akhilgov, press secretary of President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov, was beaten by unknown persons in the territory of a fuelling station in Nazran. Meanwhile, Mr Akhilgov himself denies the fact.

The incident happened yesterday, on February 22. "Five strangers beat the press secretary of the Ingush President, when the latter drove in his Mercedes car into the fuelling station, located in the Pobedy Street in the Central District of the city. The malefactors disappeared in a hijacked car, now, they are searched," said the source.

He said nothing about the current condition of the victim. According to the source, later, in the course of operative-search actions the hijacked foreign-made car was found. Also, three suspects - local residents - have been identified; now, they are searched, as the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

"At the moment, we have no details of the incident; however, under preliminary data, the attack on the press secretary had nothing to do with his professional work or with the Ingush bandit underground and, most likely, the victim knew the attackers. It looks very much like a personal conflict," said an employee of the press service of local MIA, as the Infox.ru" Agency reports.

Kaloy Akhilgov refuted the beating, having stated "just a slight verbal quarrel with unknown persons," as the Russian News Service quotes.
