Pub shelled in Dagestan, no victims
Today in the morning, unidentified persons shelled the beer pub "Arma" located in Datueva Street in Khasavyurt, Dagestan, from a grenade launcher. Nobody suffered, but the premise was strongly damaged. Local residents link the incident with militants' threats to traders in alcohol.
Gadji Magomedov, a resident of Khasavyurt, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "a VAZ-2110 car arrived to the pub; several persons jumped out of it. They got their grenade launchers ready and opened fire on the windows of the pub. The premise was strongly damaged.
The source has noted that a similar incident took place a week ago, when unidentified persons shelled the same pub from sub-machine guns. Idris Zagalov, another Khasavyurt resident, told that four trading entities of this sort were shelled during the recent month.
"On May 6, a gastronome where strong drinks were sold was shelled. A saleswoman was heavily wounded; she was brought to city hospital and soon died there. A week ago a Molotov cocktail bottle was thrown into my friend's shop; the shop burnt down almost completely," said Zagalov.
He does not exclude that militants may stand behind these incidents. "They disseminate leaflets all over Dagestan with threats to alcohol and drug traders and dealers. Now they probably think that threats should be followed by actions," said the source.
The administration of Khasavyurt said that they know about the incident, while the GOVD (Chief Interior Department) refused from comments.
